it should jus be like a universal thing you would buy at the store, jus open it up and set all the lil switches to the same thing ur original garage door openers are(jus crack open one of the remotes)

i believe its in the manual, if you ahve it.....just hold down the first and 3rd button for 30 seconds until it flashes rapidly, then release the buttons
-press one of the three buttons you want to have programmed -hold th end of your hand-held transmitter againt the bottom surface of the homelink transmitter so that you can still see the red indicator light -press the desired button until the red indicator light flashes slowy. do not relase the button. continue holding and press the hand-held transmitter button through step 6 -(step 6) hold down both buttons until the red indicator light on the homelink transmitter flashed rapidly (this may take 10-90 seconds). then release both buttons. the rapid flashing means that the transmitter has been successfully programmed to match your hand-held transmitter.... your all set.....this is from my 97 manual, hopefully its the same the other 2 buttons are to program up to 2 more garage doors |

Re: How to program the garage door opener?
Well you almost had it. For anyone that is having an issue with this, note the following:
Here are the actual instructions from the manufacturer of the Homelink system. All of the information that you could possibly need is on this site in the form of PDF manuals. One note about the instructions, you need to be sure that when you are holding down the buttons in step 4, that the lights can actually see each other. If they can't, then the slow light will stop blinking and the programming phase will not conclude (I know this because I tried this process 3 times before I let the LED's see each other). PDF on Web site: http://www.homelink.com/program/hlmanual.pdf Instructions from pdf: Programming Note: For best results, replace the battery in the handheld transmitter with a new battery before programming. If your garage door opener receiver (located in the garage) is equipped with an antenna, make sure the antenna is hanging straight down. 1. For first-time programming, press and hold the two outside buttons until the indicator light begins to flash (after 20 seconds). Release both buttons. Note: Some vehicles may require the ignition switch to be turned to the second (or “accessory” ) position during the programming process. 2. Hold the end of your handheld transmitter between 1 and 3 inches away from the HomeLink surface (located on your visor or overhead console) keeping the indicator light in view. 3. Using both hands, simultaneously push the handheld transmitter button and the desired HomeLink button. DO NOT release the buttons until step 4 has been completed. 4. Hold down both buttons until the indicator light on the HomeLink Wireless Control System flashes, first slowly then rapidly. When the indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released. (The rapidly flashing light indicates successful programming of the new frequency signal.) To activate the garage door or other programmed device, press and hold the HomeLink button—releasing when the device begins to activate. 5. To program the remaining two buttons, follow steps 2 through 4. |
