Forenza / Reno fuel economy?

What kind of fuel economy are you getting out of your Forenza / Reno? I am considering buying one.

Re: Forenza / Reno fuel economy?

I suggest going to www.suzuki-forums.com. I've been posting there for a while. I am also considering a Reno but the Reno EPA ratings are 22/30 (22/31 for 2006), which is a little worse than the competition, all of which have a more powerful motor.

Over on Suzuki-Forums.com, it is a mixed bag; some people report mileage in the 30s, some in the mid-to-high 20s, and some less than 20 mpg! If you go with the Reno, especially the auto trans, be aware that there is some kind of adaptive logic in the tranny that tunes itself to your driving habits which means it may take a few thousand miles before the mileage is any good.

Also, check this link:
http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/longterm/reno04.shtml
for a long term test of a Suzuki Reno by AutoWeek.

There are some great deals on the new 06 Renos. I may buy one myself (although I am currently leaning toward a Kia Spectra5).
