Okay, seeing as how you guys just don't get it, this is my last post here. The VIN is 1Z37J5S407752 if you wanna run it, you'll see that yes it is a stingray and it has the sucky L48 option. Seeing as how I don't like to go slow, I took out the 350, shortened the stroke of a 454, and dropped the 427 in there instead. (by the way I'm running a TH400 auto tranny). I don't know my 1/4 mile time because we don't have one within 200 miles of where I live. However it runs consistent 6.1s in the 1/8th mile. All that for under $3500. But, you probably still won't believe me. Oh well.

i had an 89 mustang 5.0.5speed....now i have a 96 maxima SE.......if u raced a Fuel injected mustang 5.0.....u would not really ....rape the thing....my 5.0 was faster than my max.....300tq@ and 225hp stock....and most of this at lower rpms......

either the people uve raced are pretty shitty drivers......or maybe they werent reallly racing you

i kno my car is faster than my best friend's SL2 Granted, he had a girl in the car with him who weight probably both of us combined, but it shouldn't have weighed him down THAT much...anyway...we started on a back road, i was behind him by about 4 car lengths...we had to go up a fairly steep n long hill...lets just say by the time we got up the hill i was right on his rear bumper doin 90 mph n had to hit the brakes because he was comin up on sombody else's bumper i kno it wasn't a real race since we were goin uphill n he had extra weight, but like i said, it shouldn't have weighed him down all that much...

I love when people get mad about the our family car thats fast and does average 25 miles to a gallon, and still beat there modded cars, I love it. I had a 1986 Monte Carlo SS and me and me friend raced with it. The SS is so slow compare to a maxima. Come on V8 5.7litre 350, wtf is that about. I just don't get it. But whatever people wana be dicks about this shit don't post shit up. that goes for the guy that beat the beetle, i am happy for you you have to teach me sometime how to take him. Thanks

All i have to say that i went through almost 11 cars in 4 years and I have to say that in terms Nissan Maxima is the most reliable car, best in performance and best to drive. I am a Die Hard Nissan all the way...............

If its stock OK, if not than no. I have a question thrasher, if you were to race your vette and you maxima which one would win?

The Vette would blow the doors off my Maxima. It has so muc torque it's just ridiculous. Plus, it has really fat rear tires (295's!), and the 4 speed actually shifts really quick. I would think it runs 0-60 somewhere around 5 secs and through the quarter somewhere in the 13's, no problem.
