Re: so dodge stealths are basically, rebranded 3000gts right?
well im not gonna get the stealth ( would love it) but my mom wont get a 92 car
she actually said ya i can have the miata but ya i dont pay for my insurance lol im thinking either miata or 240 i guess, cuz ya rx7s would cost alot for repairs right? edit: ya id have atleast a 3 inch exhaust so its not a big prob but ya im mianly for looks and performance, thing is with the miata, ill be paying it off for about a year, so i cant do any mods for a while, and with the 240 i can buy it and pay it off pretrty quickly (got like 1000 somethin right now, and then get 1500 from my lumina i guess) and so i can get a tranny swap pretty quick in like 2 months or so (since its auto, i want 5 spd)

Re: so dodge stealths are basically, rebranded 3000gts right?
The third gen rx7 have a bad temp gauge so when its level its running kinda warm when it says warm on the gauge its overheating but as rocker said exhaust and down pip wolla. As for my fav the 2nd gen rx7 i dont hear many complaints save for rust on them. And the fact they love gas but hey thats a rotary and imo no worse than a muslce car. But a turbo maita or 240 with a sr20det or rb25det would be nice. As for reapairs there isn't that many moving parts so repairs arn't bad so to speak its the labor seeing as many ppl don't work them. But i am told by ppl in the rx7 they are easy you have to keep check on your tolernces *ie where exatxtly the rotor was when you took it off so you can put it back that exact place*

I paid that much for my car and its non turbo. But anyways I would just like to add that its 60k OR 5 years. With these older cars you have to remember that.

If you get a 240sx, what do you plan to do with it?? autox or drag/street racing??? If I were you, I'd stick with the stock KA block, and turbo it... there are plenty of turbo kits out there, and I know guys that are getting like 22 MPG city and making like 300+RWHP...

Re: so dodge stealths are basically, rebranded 3000gts right?
id just be street racing, im not really into drifting really, im sure if i tried it i would get into it, but without having a real track id never really wanna do it, since i dont wanna risk fukin up my shit u know?
im mostly into just racing some straights and stuff basically i just wanna beat This stupid riced out accord, thats poorly riced out and has an exhaust that seriously sounds like diareah my friends 1990 bmw 325i (my lumina can beat him up until about 40 mph then hell pull ahead) a stupid dodge neon and basically thats about it first thing ill do is get a tranny swap, then ill go and buy a turbo i need to find out how much one of those are first (the tranny swap)

Re: so dodge stealths are basically, rebranded 3000gts right?
well ive read that a tranny swap from auto to manual for a 240 is only about a grand, also my coworker (used to be coworker, now where firends i guess) well his dad owns a transmission shop, so i can probly get some goodies
id like to do it my self but ya, id need a guide and i kinda dont wanna lift the car up with just some ghetto jacks, id like an actual car lift i dunno if id get the engine swap also lol btw, with the tranny swap, id be able to get it to look like a factory 5 spd 240 right? and would transmission shops have the parts or would i have to buy them myslef?

I'm pretty sure that the 240 sx 5spd you're thinking of is the borg warner t5 tranny... same one used in the 84-86 300zx turbos... not the greatest tranny to try and get power out of.... if you're more interested in this stuff, the 240 guys are your best bet... if I was in your position I'd get a 240 with decently low miles (if you can find one) and turbo the KA motor... it only costs like 1000if you do it yourself...
