Re: 2004 mustang saleen hp ?

yeah dude isnt that the E model i thought the 281 sc was in the 400 range? for 50 grand? and has the dual exhaust on th outer edges of the rear bumper more like a normal gt. also the 281 sc i am pretty sure is running a 5 speed and runs a roots style blower with 8 or 9 lbs of boost. might be wrong though.

Unhappy Can't figure out if it's a real Saleen, help!

I'm new to the Saleen world. I have found a 2004 Saleen (so it says) at a dealership but I'm skeptical. It says it's only got 290hp. I thought the Saleens were at least 445 starting? Can someone please advise?
The dealership isn't even advertising it as a Saleen, yet I saw the car tonight and it has Saleen written all over it, literally. I am starting to wonder if the specs for this car are wrong. But it visibly looked exactly like a 2004 S281 (E or SC I don't know?).

Here's the specs from online:

Re: 2004 mustang saleen hp ?

the 505hp model talked about above must be the S351R. no saleen came with a centrifugal blower besides that one. they stopped making it in 99 when they started developing the E model.

for 2004 the S281 has 290hp (chip, pullies, k&n, borla, suspension, shifter)
S281-SC (whipple series IV twin screw 360hp)
S281-E (whipple series V twin screw 440hp)

no saleen came with 18x10s F and 18x11s R either
the car above me here those details are for a GT (ie 260hp, 17" wheels) if the dealor has a saleen and you are unsure, call up saleen with the VIN number theyll give you the details on it. and N/A saleens came with 290hp like mine from the factory.

Re: 2004 mustang saleen hp ?

I have a 2003 Saleen s281-e it has a 5 speed transmission. With a 4.6 super charged v8 it dynode at 420hp at the wheels. The tech said that it was around 500 to the motor. So ya those speaks are right.
