B20 Internal work
Hey all I wanna pick up some extra ponies with out resorting to turbo. Right now i have a B18B1 block and a B20 head. So What cams will fit the B20 head? Any websites? or can I pick up some ponies by puttin in a cam from another engine? And what kinda pistons can I put in the B18B that'll give me some ponies. I have about 500$ to work with. What internal work can I do to this set up with these funds? thanks.

if u wanna go with a cheap but yet good setup that will net u around 12 whp, then go for the crower 62402 cams. these dont need upgraded valve springs so thats why it's a cheap setup. should cost anywhere from $350 - $450.
if u want more power then get the crower 62403 or the crower 62404. the 404's will net u over 20 whp but ur idle will be pretty rough. i think over 1000 rpm at idle. both cams require a valve spring kit which is anoth $200-$300. Im gonna get the 402's in a month or two. gotta save up for em. (struggling college kid who spends evey dime on his car.....with no job!!!!!!) also get some cam gears while ur putting the cams in the car to squeeze more power outta the cams. im gonna do that as well as a full timing belt and water pump change when i install the cams. before u get some cams, u might want to free up the flow of ur motor. get Intake, exhaust and most important headers when u install the cams! all will give u more power. ALSO, i would get type R pistons for ur car. the pistons will really help out once u get some cams in your car. for 500 bucks, i would go for the basic bolt on's first before thinking about getting cams. mainly get intake and headers. u can run the stock exhaust for a while

Re: B20 Internal work
aight thanks guys, sounds like a good idea. Hopefully with all these bolt ons the new pistons and the cam profile Ill be pushing almost 200hp with no turbo. Ide be happy with that set up. Plus it seems cheaper then going with a turbo set up any way. My car only has 78k miles on it, so I really didnt wanna do a turbo. Plus it would voice my warrenty. Bolt ons wont though so if I do internal work and the engine blows the dumb fucks wont tell the difference. and wtf does the "Main Regd" light means?

Re: B20 Internal work
why do you have the head of a b20? I'm thinking put a b20 block on it. It'll get your compression up from 9.2 to 9.7. http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/c...c/compcalc.php

i know that right now im pushing 174hp and 141lbs of torque. atleast that is what the dyno said. i'm also thinking of new cams, new intake manifold, and S-AFC controller. from what i hear i should be at or around 200hp.

Errr, no they didn't. I'm pretty sure they came with b20a's. 4th gen had h22a and h23(a). 5th gen had h22.

integralover how in the world r u pushing 174 HP? i hope that isnt wheel HP cuz i doubt u will get that much with just I/H/E cat and a chip?
thats flywheel HP u r measuing right, cuz i dont know how u r make n that much power. if it's whp then u have a freak motor or the place where u got ur car dynoed had a dynometer that was off a bit. and to get to the 200 whp mark for ur b20, ur gonna need to get more than cams and intake manifold. I would go with some race cams like crower 404's with valve springs, cam gears, higher compression pistons(some type R pistons will be sweet), headwork (port and polish), bigger throttle body (BBk 70mm), skunk2 IM and u might wanna upgrade ur ignition but it probably isnt necssary. this is the settup im gonna go with minus the crower 404. im gonna get the crower 403's BTW, how is that ACT flywheel/clutch combo work n for u. is it the 12 lb flywheel? Later donw the road im gonna get that flywheel but not too sure what clutch to get yet. and the "maint regd" means maintance required. this light is supposed to come on in all integra after about 72000 miles i think. nothings wrong with ur car, it's just reminding u to get ur car checked up. to get rid of this light, u need to reset the "maint req" light. look under ur dash by the driver side. towards the right of the drivers side underdash, u will see a black box looking thing with a blue button on the front of it. push that button in to reset ur light. thats it. and i have NO clue what u r talk n about when u say the "voide" light??????

Re: B20 Internal work
hell dont ask me man the dealer put the B20 head on the Ls block. The other head blew I think. Either way what would be the benifit of having that little set up. I mean hell I was able to run with a 1994 Vtec prelude on the highway yesterday rolling three deep.
