1/4 mile times
I'm curious as to what you guys are running in the 1/4 mile, and what kind of modifications you've installed to get there.
I had a funny thing happen to me last night, which is why I'm posting this thread. Last summer, my best run was a 15.7xx at 87.xx mph. This looks a lot like the stock time for the tC, only that at that point I was running a Fidanza flywheel and an Injen intake. I thought something was up. Fast forward to last night. I got rid of the Injen, and bought a K&N panel filter and blocked off the resonator block on the intake. I'm still running the Fidanza flywheel, only that i took off the stock muffler. I ran a 15.42x last night at 91.8x mph. Granted that last night it was about 38 degrees F at the track. So my question is twofold: what are you guys running, and is the stock tC muffler really that restrictive? I urge all of you to run your car mufflerless at the track so see what kind of times you're posting.

Re: 1/4 mile times
I don't know my 1/4 mile time, but the stock tC exhaust is HUGE!! Its like a freakin weight reduction just taking it off................lol. By resonator block, are you talking about that bypass hose from the valve cover?

It's that box guy hanging off the intake, i blocked it off by taking the box guy off, then putting a pvc end cap and putting it over the hole.

Re: 1/4 mile times
theres a scion up the street from me and the guy who owns it bares no cost in any of his cars that he mods, he has a time of 12.6 at the track with his TC he wont tell me what he has added but from the looks of it...it aint the scion engine inside that beast.
i will take some pictures. soon when he leaves it out. |
