Would you buy another Colorado?
I'm thinking of getting a base model 4 cyl. auto trans Colorado. No towing or hauling. Just want a P.U. that gets resonable mpg. and above all is reliable. I may buy new or low milage used.
Thanks for ANY opinions! |

Re: Would you buy another Colorado?
I just bought an 07 std cab 2WD LT w/ an I4 auto. Drove it from South Jersey to DC for work the same day. Easily cruised at 72MPH and quiet. Can't speak to MPG yet though. I'm hoping for at lease 20-21.
My previous truck was an S10 w/ 2.2L Auto ... the Colorado is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT!. |

Re: Would you buy another Colorado?
I'll have to wait and see on the actual fuel efficiency...just bought it on Monday. I'll post an update next week.

Re: Would you buy another Colorado? probably not
I made the mistake of picking up a very low mileage used 2006 Colorado extended cab work truck. It had the check engine light on when I test drove it and because I was unfamiliar with the dasboard I didn't recognize the symbol for motor as "check engine." The truck was so quiet I figured it was just an idiot light indicating the motor was running.
I have since had all the sensors associated with the code which keeps coming up replaced, there are three of them, and it still keeps coming on! Someone had cobbed up the console with a replacement radio probably in an effort to get a CD player, and a theory was that the radio which switched on and off independently of the ignition was wired into the data harness was tested by replacing the radio. After each experiment, the check engine light was turned off, only to come back on within a day or two. A couple of times it has spontaneously turned itself off when I started the truck, only to come back on after a couple of more starts. If I had known about the funky coding GM does and the track record they have for sensor failures, I probably would have avoided the truck. That said, it runs great, gets reasonable gas mileage so far, and handles better than my old 1995 Ford Ranger long bed which was destroyed by a 19 year old female "distracted" driver. IHMO she was texting when she rear-ended me at 45 mph. |
