EK Clutch

I have a 96 civic EK and im going to get a NEW racing clutch but i was wondering if it can handel a Stage 3.or 2 the Dx version 1.6 with headers,intake ,cat, cam gears, and a short shift or should i just go with the STage 1 on it

there is absolutely no point to waste your money on anything other than the stock replacement clutch. All you're going to do is sacrifice driveability by getting something else. Trust me, enjoy your stock clutch while you can....the same goes for AC and power steering

that's a good reason to get a clutch, but all i was trying to say was that you have no need to get anything stronger than a stock replacement clutch

Well Money is not an issue to me but I was thrying to see what the a Stage 1 clutch and the other 2 can due since every one here says that a stage 1 makes a big difference than having a stock one so I really what to try it out

its going to be more grabby but as far as performance, there will be NO difference at all....and if money really isn't an issue get a twin plate, build the D and boost it.....

good point, but for the modifications he has, there is no need for anything more than the stock clutch.....i have friends who have intentionally beaten the shit out of the stock D clutches in their boosted D's just to see how long they'd last.....average about 2 months in a 250-260whp D.....and thats the stock clutch! I'm pretty sure you're I/H/E 1.6L isn't going to burn it out or have any problems....

turbo or supercharger huh??? Well supercharged Hondas are not very fast...so if that's what you're looking for, then there you go. Personally i love my boosted GSR. It is a blast to drive. One little piece of advice for you:

BUILD YOUR TURBO SETUP YOURSELF....KITS ARE OVERPRICED.....also, if you mention Ebay anything, i'm done helping you because regardless of what it is, it is junk. Prepare to spend in excess of $2-3k on this setup in order to have a complete and reliable setup.

My new build, which i just finished this weekend, cost me a lot more than that...lol.....If you want to do it the correct way and make good power, then prepare to spend even more.

Just to give you an idea of prices for a turbo setup...know that you can do it for less money than this if you're dead set on it, but you're going to jeopardize reliability.

that's a grand total of $4250 for that setup....i paid quite a bit less than that because i purchased those parts from friends who own/run shops and are Honda-tech sponsors, but those are the retail prices for all of those parts

The trick is to know people....otherwise there is another $2215.....i did sell the other stuff so i didn't actually spend all of that, but if you were to add all of this together, i have spent about $6500 on my car in just turbo stuff in the past 16months. Not to mention paying for college, getting HID's and new rims and tires.....damn that really hits hard when you add it all up....

IT IS WORTH IT!!!
