1/12 Top Fuel Bike
I started this one about three years ago and stopped after the first six-months. I haven't done much since then, but hope to ge to it soon.
The frame is 100% scratch-built from brass. It is about 90% done. Motor is based on a Kawasaki in-line four cylinder, blown. I took the head from, I believe, Tamiya's GPZ 1100 (I think). The cylinder case was machined as well as the block, blower, pulleys, transmission, engine/transmission mounts, triple-trees, forks and more to come. Top, face fairing, rear body panel, and the gas tank fairing were all vacuum-formed. Other body parts were scracth made from styrene. Rear slick is scratch built from styrene and putty. Mock-ups. I'm hoping to be able to get GTMike to do my front and rear wheels on the CNC. Link to the fastest and quickest motorcycle in the quarter mile: http://www.larrymcbride.com/ I can't get any pictures to post, so that's why I have the link. As a note: Larry has gone as fast a 5.80 seconds and is pushing the 5.7 mark. Top Speed is north of 243mph. That's on two wheels, in the quarter mile. Wow!
