Question 4-Speed clutch shutters at take off

Hi All,
I was wondering if any of you have had the dredded clutch shutter at take off on the three/four speed tranny. My Corvair is also suffering from this condition. I rebuilt the engine with nitrile seals to stop the rear main and all other area oil leaks with great success. I didn't replace the clutch disc because it looked good and had plenty of material left. I suppose all that oil on the cluch material and it setting for 15 years didn't help! Anyway, has anyone used the clutch disc with springs? I am going to have the pressure plate surfaced and pressure checked, the flywheel surfaced and possably have a new clutch disc made with the springs in the center. I have already replaced the pilot bearing. Thanks!
