A/C not working
I have a 04 Chevy Trailblazer LS. I was having some issues with the A/C, we attempted to recharge it and the gage was showing it was over pressurized. I took it into a shop to have a A/C check done, they said there was not leak and the orifice tube was clogged and needed to be replaced. Last week we replaced the orifice tube and filled it back up with refrigerant. We had a couple cool days in AZ so it worked for two days after that. Then it started to get hot again it stopped working. Anytime it is over 104 degrees my compressor just kicks off. Any know what this could be or have had this issue before?

Re: A/C not working
It sounds like it can't handle the additional load of high temps...if there is no leak, and refrigerant level is ok, I would suspect the cooling fan....
Also, orifice tubes, don't just get plugged......you could be having a potential compressor problem.... |

Re: A/C not working
Thank you I will check the cooling fan.
I just got a new compressor last March, and it worked all summer even in when the high hit 120. So the whole situation is just not making any sense to me. |

Re: A/C not working
Why was the compressor replaced? If it was because it imploded, that's why your orifice tube was clogged...if the system was not flushed of debris, you should have at least inserted an external filter before the orifice tube....

Re: A/C not working
The compressor was replaced because of the seals going bad and it was leaking.
