70 Elky's and how the body is built

I have 2 70 Elky's. One has a good bed with rotted out floor pan's and the other has good floor pans and a rotted out bed. What i want to do is take VERRY good measurement's and split them in 2 right behind the smugglers hatch and put them back together. Sence they need both rear quarters and i'll use the front half that has a good legal vin tag. There might b some reataching and welding on the sides of the bed, but after replacing the rear quarters they will b coverd up. I have fisher factory assy. manuals and body books for 1970. But there is no info on where the factory spot weld's are all at. I wish i knew some one who worked at the fisher body factory that knew the assy. order that these body's were built. any info on these from 1969 to 1972 should b the same or any info on a station wagon these same year's will also b helpfull sence the station wagon is about the same as an Elky but with a roof on it. Tks Scott

probably be more reasonable to sell the one with a bad bed and just get floor pans put into the other one, rather than go through the trouble of cutting it up.

i understand the attachment, maybe give the guys at the elcamino store a call and see if one of them could answer a few questions. they should pretty much know those years inside and out.

sucks that the bed is bad, not as easy as just doing floor pans.
