B16a1 Swap need assistance/opinion
Let me start by saying hello to everyone at this forum this will be my first thread.
I love my honda civic more than life itself and i want to see good things happen to it which is why im removing that peice of turd dy16 and putting a real engine in it. Now my first questions are as follows- 1. My friend is selling me a b16a1 for 700$ with tranny and ecu and the normal crap minus a ac compresser with 25-35 thousand miles on it he paid 1300 + tax and shipping 2years ago but scrapped his crx project and just kept it on the pallet and now is offering it to me. is that a decent deal?? im really new to the tuner world and am just diving in head first and dont wanna get screwed over. 2. whats the difference gunna be between the 88-91 civic DOHC V-tech with 160hp over my dy16 right now. 3. Will i be able to get alot out of that v-tech if i throw some cash into it.. will it be worth it? or am i better of saving for a b18c instead. 4. I currently have a 97 civic dx hatchback. what will i need and how hard will the swap be into my current car. any help or insight into any of these questions would be greatly apreciated.. THANKS! |
