How long do TL's usually last?

I'm thinking about buying an 2004 - up TL and I'm just wondering how long these cars usually last. I ask because I see a lot of good deals on TL's but they all have around 80 - 100k miles on them. Thanks in advance.

Re: How long do TL's usually last?

If you treat them well, they'll last surprisingly long.

The best advice I can offer is to get information about the seller/previous driver(s)/vin history etc..
How was it driven? Was it maintained? Accidents? << the easy questions.

My family bought a 2nd gen (1999) the year it came out and we all took turns driving it up until about 2005 (mostly parents.) They ran the car up past 100,000 miles, were offered decent trade-in value, and decided to upgrade to the 3rd generation since they liked it so much -- having a troublefree, luxurious, speedy ride is quite a departure for them. They've had the '04 since 2005 and no engine or tranny problems at all. Regular maintenance (interior and out) definitely help, and yes I had to use Wikipedia

Get an extended warranty! The transmissions are crap! Other than that they are wonderful cars and can last well over 250K will regular maintenance, not just oil changes.

if you maintained it correctly then engine should last another 100k-200k.
Also,Honda's are known for it's long lasting feature.

Re: How long do TL's usually last?

I bought my 2000 Acura 3.2TL brand new. Since then I've heard many pros and cons about the vehicle particularly the post 2000 models. I'm extremely satisfied with my vehicle although I doubt if I will buy another Acura TL since the extensive configuration Acura had done with their new models. Nonetheless my Acura has already passed 178K miles with no major problems. Its VTEC engine give me the up and go power plus good mileage. However, I took care of the car making sure that basic maintenance requirements are met. All it needs now is a new paint job. But if you are interested in buying one, have it checked thoroughly specially if the time belt had been changed if at all. Good luck.

Re: How long do TL's usually last?

I bought my 2006 TL 5 years ago with 90k miles. I'm pushing 156k miles without having to deal any major issues. *knock on wood*. I've been staying up to date with basic maintenance and not letting those go past due.
