Yeah they are tight cars...0-60 in just under 5 seconds...Yep I would say they are fast are conservative looking...Not TOO aggressive.

Damn, 128 K + prolly about 20 or 30 K so your lookin at about 160 out the door. I'd rather get a Porsche 911 Turbo. My .02

It is a nice car though. I've actually seen two around town. 1 in my neighboorhood and one while I was out driving. It might have been the same one though.

I dont really like it.
Still, an S2000 would get killed, as it goes 0-60 in 4.2 seconds.

Oops, wrong Z06 character. Your the guy with well over 400 hp, and in the 11's. You would have killed him. Perhaps he "recognize(d) your auth-or-it-y" Oh well.

0-60 in 4.2 secs is all good, but apparently it doesnt go around corners quite like it should.

Its best to look at the Z8 as a Grand Tourer, not a sports car. Then it all of a sudden seems better.

Fair enough, but when everyone saw the pics and learnt that it would be the awesome M5 engine powering it, they thought they'd be getting a supercar. I personally would have much preferred that, as it's something I am sure BMW could have pulled off

oh well, never mind

cheers

I also would have prefered a supercar, but BMW probably figured they would look better by making something comfy, so people wouldnt associate them with loud and thrashy.

Supercars dont have to be "loud and thrashy". Look at the 996 Turbo. An extremely fast, accomplished supercar. However, it's luxurious and wouldn't scare your gran!

No excuses, BMW needs to deliver a supercar. The company won't look good if all major global players are there except itself.

So come on BMW, how about a Z8M?
cheers

The S2000 doesn't go 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, it goes 0-60 in about 5.9 seconds. Plus the high-revving Honda (Had One Never Did Again) is about 100K cheaper than the Z8. There are positives and negatives to both cars:
Honda:
pro:very sharp styling, a blast to drive, 6-speed, very high revving,
con: not much low end torque, long term, will probably not fare well because cars revving at 8,000 revs don't last long.

BMW: (Bought my Wife)
pro: excellent handling, excellent interior, way cool steering wheel, excellent acceleration, your arrival is an event, excellent handling, like a true BMW
con: sell your house to buy one, wait list, prime meat for auto strippers, for 130,000 you could buy something faster and sleeker (996 turbo, acura NSX)

Hmm... If you have it, spend it. If you spend it, flaunt it.

I meant the Z8 went 0-60 in 4.2 seconds.
To explain my earlier post: The guy here with the name Z06Lover has an S2000 (it was cheaper than a Vette). Mr. Corvette Z06 has a massively powerful vette, with well over 420hp (500?? who knows..)

Great looking cars. I saw one in the showroom @ Long Beach BMW. I understand they go $50k over premium. Wow! That'd put it up there with the Porsche GT2 in price range, and I think I'd rather settle for the latter, in that case.
