Water in driver's side rear floorboard

03 Passat Wagon w/ sunroof... I've had water in the driver's floorboard in the past and cleaned out the drains in the sunroof and cut off the ends in the doorjamb. Now I've got a ton of water in the driver's side rear floorboards. Its gotta be close to a 1/2 gallon of water and counting...
I've tried doing a search but most of the posts I've seen are for the passenger side. I've cleaned out the area under the cowl by the windshield, the cabin filter and around the battery. I haven't removed the battery yet, not sure if I need to... I can't believe the water is getting from the front passenger side of the car to the rear drivers side, though.
Any other ideas where the water could be coming from? I'm guessing it's coming from the sunroof area, but other then the 2 drains in the front corners, I didnt see any others. How big of a pain in the a** is it to remove the headliner to check?
Also, how hard is it to remove, or lift the carpet up so I can try to dry underneath it? I didnt realize how much water was in it until I removed one of the carpet mat holder screws and sucked the water thru that little hole. It just kept coming and coming and coming and coming...

Re: Water in driver's side rear floorboard

Hi
Had the same problem, Look under the battery tray Water drain hole gets blocked and water gets in through air intake and blows out from vent under seat, remove rubber bungs under battery tray this will stop it blocking.
Hope this works for you
