Exclamation 1997 GMC sierra 1500 tranny

I serviced my transmission last night and I noticed that one of the solenoids at the rear of the trans was a little loose so I removed the clip that holds it in place but I can't remember if the solenoids should be flush in the trans or are they supposed to be sticking out a little .

After putting everything back together I noticed that my trans feels like it is taking off in 2nd gear and it appeares that it is not shifting past 3rd gear so now I have no overdrive now, I am guessing that I did not get the solenoids put back in correctly.

Please help.
