Question Breaking in a new 330xi

Hello all,

I am finally going to take delivery of my new BMW 330xi. Unfortunately, the car is being delivered to Texas and I am in Colorado. I am planning on flying down and picking it up, so I would like to know if anyone has some advice on the best way to break it in on the trip back. Should I stick to the highways and drive at a constant speed or should I take more back roads and drive at variable speeds. Any advice would be appreciated.

In my 330Ci manual it says avoid driving at constant speed or constant engine revs, keep changing the speed frequently and do not go above 100 mph and do not exeed 4500 rpm. Other than that everything goes I guess. Except of cource you must remember that the brakes pads have not bedded in yet so they will not be very sharp yet, also the tires will take about 300 miles to start gripping the road properly.

I am breaking in my 330Ci and I also stop for a rest after about 50 - 100 miles of driving, it is at least good for the driver
