Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Going on on the exhaust.... still missing the springs, rivets and have to hand paint the weld seams..
Made the holes into the leverages and painted in alu. They seem rough but it's due to the macro |

Andrea - the exhaust system is really coming along well - the exhaust can looks better now that you are adding more detail to the pipe - John

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Just a thought--you might get better effects with the Alclad if you use an enamel base. It almost always comes out shinier and more life-like when I do. Yours looks to be nice but it's just a thought...

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Enamel or laquer shoud be the same... do you think enamel is better? On the last 3 pictures chrome is covered with alclad aqua gloss.... could it be this the problem? Anyway the ts-14 was not very smooth (mirror finish).... I didn't polish it so this could be another issue....

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
I too have better results spraying a semi gloss black enamel under alclad. You can buy a big can of enamel spray paint for cheap. The alclad sticks better to it.

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Placed the exhaust and the radiator pipes. The radiator as you may see is not glued (it moved taking picture)
I worked on the stand as the wheels are horrible..! I cutted their supports and replaced them with an alu. tube. I will change the wheels probably with a M1 ones. Painted the blacksurface on the front cowl as the decal didn't follow the profile very well completed the radiator with rear mesh (you may see only the front) and completed the strange tank cup. I used the p.e. fasteners and painted the outer ring darker to give more deepness |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Some progress...
I'm afarid it will be a nightmare to place the front fairing as it has to be opened a lot to pass the radiator.... I hope for the best.... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Andrea - your usual excellent work - you have done a great job so far on this crap kit - sadly I bought 3 different versions of it - 1 2010 and 2-2011 kits. very unhappy with what Fujimi puts out, but you are doing well - I'm not sure I have your skill set. Hopefully everything will go well with the from cowl - John

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Thanks John, the kit is not so bad as described, yes there are some issue but with patience you may solve everything. I have 4 kits too... 2 2010 and 2 2011. I decided to make this out of the box but every step you go ahead and more you want to improve it.... for the second one I have the top studio detail set.... and so for the 2011.
Now fujimi released the 2012 version.... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Andrea - I saw the Suzuka 8 hrs and the Trickstar entry crashed while trying to lead. The team had high hopes but they low-sided out while leading and destroyed the bike - I don't remember them returning later in the race sadly. I think they DNF'd the race. it was another Purple bike and I believe they only had the one entry this year. - John
The reason why I think they are crap quality is because they cost more than a Tamya bike kit but are half the quality - and the plastic is funny - not like Tamiya plastic - John |
