2002 325i Sport Package

I am planning to buy a 2002 325i and was thinking about getting the sports package. I would appretiate anyones thoughts on the matter. Is it worth the extra money? What exactly to they change in the suspension ? How much harder is the ride ?

Yes it is worth the money unless you are planning on changing the suspension already. It lowers that car .25 to .5 of a inch, puts bigger rims on the car, the suspension is tighter, sway bars are larger, etc etc. I'd go for it, just for the rims. Get it UNLESS you are planning on changing everthing anyway.

get the sp

Definitely get the sport suspension. You also get the sports steering wheel, which is nice, and the sport seats, which are fabulous.

I just took delivery of a 2002 325 Ci on Saturday (see my post above)....If you go for the coupe, I understand you get a different/tighter supension then the 4 door model. It is plenty tight enough in the coupe and there is minimal or no body roll.

In addition, if you live where the snow falls and water turns to ice, then bigger rims and wider tires will have to be changed every year.

I presonally do not want to spend the time and money to change tires 2 x per year, especially when the standard rims and tires on my car perform wonderful.

Sure, I could probably take corners at 60 mph instead of just 50 mph, but I'm not racing anyone or leaving a crime scene.

Just my opinion of course. Phil

Get the sport package. I have it on my 2001 325i and it is oh so nice.

Whoever above mentioned the problem in the winter, however, is
absolutely correct. With the 17" wheels, Boston potholes can eat
my tires for lunch (they have eaten 2 so far). Traction control helps,
but this year I felt the need to switch the rear to snow tires for the winter.
