if i had £100,000 to spend on a car, i would not be buying a Ferrari, i would more than likely buy a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R and spend the £60,000 on turning into it into the fastest road car in the country. Half the fun in cars is playing with them and doing them up, not buying them straight off the shelf.

Yes, but a truly beautiful car does not need any modifications. I can see what you are saying with the Skyline, but I wouldn't touch a Lambo or Ferrari.

i rekplied to the same question in another forum, but i think it will be expensive... i said £250+ per week but after seeing a few prices i think it will be closer to £400 a week!! Expensive!! type "rent car UK" in google and see what you come up with, otherwise try easyrentacar, that may be cheaper... good luck

I know that I am in on this late, but the supra is a nice car. I've had one and it was fun to drive and it is easy to mod and "beat up on ferrari's with", but lets compare twin turbo to twin turbo.
MKIV Supra vs. F40.....Hmmmmmmmm.....
Yes there are two more cylinders, but who's counting.

I do think that every car should be modded. If I got my hands on an F40...up goes the boost. And then after that nothing serious, just the larger turbo's and upgraded camshafts from the factory, if they are still available. Then again....up goes the boost. And lots of track time she would have.

The Ferrari, regardless of which one, still to this day gets me that feeling of when I saw my first one when I was a little kid. The Supra will not do that for me.

Is it such a sin to make something gorgious even better?
I'm sure Enzo would agree. He built the cars to sell to generate funds for the racing program. Racing was on his mind. Why do you think that they made the larger turbo's and upgraded camshafts that you could buy from the factory for the F40? It is for that person that see's nothing perfect. Perfection comes from the dream of making a sports car better.

Example: What about the Digi-Tec 360 that was in the December issue of Forza that netted a 25-30 horsepower gain from the computer. It is making a great ride just that much funner to drive. Also Chris Parr's F40 that graced the cover of the same issue. Purely gorgious in my mind. He added completely functional parts to the car.
There is a qoute that sums it up pretty well on page 43 in the last paragraph of that article.

"Some enthusiasts treat their Ferraris like pieces of art, carefully storing them away in temperature-controlled garages. Others find that the real pleasure of owning such an incredibly wonderful piece of engineering means using it as its makers intended, and constantly improving its performance as technology allows."

I am not trying to start a fight or anything, but I hope you see my point of view.

Thanks,
DPG

I have to tell you guys up front. I have a 94 accord. I just wanted to hear what you had to say. Coming from someone who owns neither i enjoy both. When i am driving along and see that supra pass me engine screaming and driver smiling i love it. When i see that one in a lifetime ferrari driving by on friday night i almost snap my neck looking. Both are amazing cars and i think you should be happy with having them. I love to race...Am i fast..NO..but i love it..The speed the fun whatever love it, its all about the cars you guys have a good night.
