2004 flooding after adding fuel
My 2004 Aveo sedan has developed a minor flooding problem. The car starts in the mornings and anytime after driving fine, with the exception of right after I add fuel, and I normally fill the tank. After filling, the car floods and takes about 30 seconds of turning over the starter without touching the gas pedal, for the car to start. Runs perfectly after that, no stumbling or stalls, stop and restarts fine until the next time I have to re-fuel. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: 2004 flooding after adding fuel
I did some research on this problem and found out that this happens when the evap canister purge solenoid sticks open and the pressure from adding fuel pushes gas into the intake causing flooding. Whenever the car starts and burns the gas, no flooding until the next time the car is re-fueled.
Does anyone know WHERE the evap canister and purge solenoid are located on a 2004 Chevy Aveo? Some cars have it around the engine and some have it near the gas tank. How difficult is the purge solenoid to replace??? Thanks for any help! |
