Can't see traffic lights

I am 6'3" and with the seat all the way back in my HHR with it's low winsheild I have trouble seeing traffic lights when I am close to them.
A freind told me he saw someone with a prism type device that attached to the windsheild that corrected that problem.
Has anyone seen anything like this?

These are readily available online via eBay or several other online vendors. Do a Google search on "traffic light viewer" There are 3 that are popular. A fresnel lens stick-on, a plastic prism, and a glass prism that screws into the dash.

Re: Can't see traffic lights

I got one and I'm only 5'10 and found it at an HHR boutique web store. It was about $10. It is a plastic prism with a rubber suction cup that sticks to the windshield. The optics are not that great, but do the job as to seeing the lights when you pull up close.

I had remembered seeing them back in the 1950s when my uncle had one in his 53 Buick with a sun visor.

I recently came across some in a box in my basement that belonged to my father ( now deceased 21 yrs.). At first I didn't know what they were but after looking at the writing on the boxes they came in, I realized what they were used for. What a novel invention . Some have told me that those in the original boxes from the '50s should be worth something .

Lol. It is a great advantage of your hight. And it is also called very great luck that your town has only 4 signals. But it could be a major problem if you are travelling in high traffic town.

Yeah, the wife has an HHR.....I'm 6 feet.....have to lean over the steering wheel to see the light......another way to cope is don't pull up all the way to the stop line....

Re: Can't see traffic lights

I've had 3 HHR's as rentals and found this issue quite annoying.
