Salvage/Rebuilt title, Should I be concerned?
I found a 1995 Lexus SC400 that has just over 100,000 miles. It is at a dealership and they wanted $7000 for it. Then they just found out it has a salvage/rebuild title. The car looks to be in very good condition and the salesman said they would go $500 less because of the salvage title. Is this a good deal and should I be concerned at all?

yes, I would be concerned, there's a chance the frame is not quite straight and will cause uneven handling and tire wear or that the drivetrain took a hit in the incident and is close to going out

In my area it is impossible to get a dealer to take a car with a salvage title in trade. My son bought a nice rebuilt Volvo with a salvage title and couldn't trade it or sell it. Finally a guy hit it and totaled it. His insurance company reduced book value by about 25% when they paid my son for the car. My advice - don't buy it.

It would be worried about salvage/rebuilt tittle epasily if it was 7000 and thin the salesman thin just drops it lesss to 500. I would just walk away or if you are really wanna get get a carfaz report first to see what wrong with it was it has its tittle it does.

Don't buy it. Insurance won't give you full coverage and the resale value is very low. In most states a "rebuilt" car must go through a state inspection so they are some what safe.
Do you know what damage it had? Collision, Flood, etc? |

Re: Salvage/Rebuilt title, Should I be concerned?
I buy and sell salvage. However, my advice is have someone look at it and make sure that it is in good condtion, frame and mechanics. I have been rebuilding salvage vehicle for nearly seven years. I don't like to buy ones that have been hit hard, but every deal is different.
