Buying through a broker
I am looking into purchasing a vehicle and the seller wants to go through a broker that would hold the funds, after I receive the vehicle I would have 48 hours to inspect it and drive it before deciding to keep it or return the vehicle. The Broker will hold the funds and then either release them or give them back to me after the 48 hour period. Does anyone think this is legitament? Will I get burned? Is this a scam? Please let me know.

The seller and I have been exchanging emails, supposedly he is in the military and will be going to Iraq shortly, he is currently stationed in the United Kingdom awaiting orders. He wants to use a third party escrow company and we've negotiated a downpayment and monthly payment options for this purchase. I am hesitant in using the company he suggested so I offered him the choice for using www.escrow.com since they are affiliated with www.cars.com and I've ready their terms and policies, I've also spoke with one of their representatives. I have yet to hear back from the seller regarding the use of escrow.com so I am assuming that if he rejects using them I know it is a scam. |

I did not read further than a 2004 Mazda 3 with 29 K for $ 5400.
Give your head a big shake, $ 5400. ?,,, your right in your thoughts it being a scam, and am happy you shared your thoughts with automotive Forum. now go find another and let us know what it is before purchase. |
