Re: Return of American Motors?

I have the article and read with much interest, but its full of contradictions and little deliberate misleading stuff. Then you read when its magically supposed to return; April 1st.

Its an april fools joke.

April fools joke

Should of saw that coming when there was no mention what so ever at the IAS. Kinda been out of the loop for a bit, so I ws wondering if anybody with subscription had seen the article.

Even if they did do it, i figured it would be a bunch of rebadged Chrysler products anyway.

Re: Return of American Motors?

They had me going for a bit. Even told my wife that AMC was coming back. I hoped it would give me an excuse to buy something new and replace my 9 year old daily driver. As I read on, I wondered what a 9 speed continuosly variable transmission was, or why any company would try to start something up the way todays auto market is. Didn't add up. Got to the end where they said 'April Fools', then walked out to the garage and wished there wasn't snow on the ground so I could have taken my 69 SST out for a spin.

Dare to dream, I guess.

The drawings didn't look like anything out of a real design studio, and yes, it was an April fools joke.

Too bad, the Ambassador drawing was nice...
