Re: loudest car

My old setup hit 138db on the TL, 2-12" polk exII's, a profile ca400m in a sealed enclosure. My 15 is just as loud, and i have another ready to go in.

Alot of the bass vehicles dont have any mids and highs.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Subwoofers are almost always way louder than the rest of the system speakers ... the only real exception is HLCD's (horns). It's just very difficult to make tweeters play much above 120-130 dB. I do agree with you however that the sub region is just a small portion of the audio spectrum.

Re: loudest car

I need to make door pods for my 6.5 comps. There is no way in hell to fit them in the dash. I used to have a set of mb quart 5.25's but they went in my girls car after my truck broke down.

Re: loudest car

i had to cut my doors down to fit 6.5's, my car had 4x6's originally. it was just a plastic piece though was pretty simple. again i have sub volume controls on my EQ so its VERY easy to blend the sub into the highs, kill the sub, or wang the sh_t out of it. i compete locally so what good are loud ass highs and a weak/moderate substage.

Re: loudest car

All the idiots around here are bass heads. They will leave stock speakers everywhere and put usually a set of a-bombs or some other flea market crap in there vehicle and act like its the shit.

I love my eq +/- 6db on the sub channel and either 80/120hz on the sub channel filter.

Indeed. But unfotunately my car was at a performance shop where they left my car outside with the doors unlocked and the alarm unarmed so they could help themselves to ripping my door panels, and taking whatever they wanted.
