1984 Thunderbird 2.3 Litre Turbo Coupe exhaust manifold and cold air

i got a question for you, its about my car. my exhaust manifold is getting severely hot that it glows a bright orange/red and i have lit cigarettes off of it after less than 10 minutes of gentle driving, and its not just my manifold that gets hot, it transfers to the turbo and as well as the exhaust pipe. now i already know that its not due to a blockage in the pipe because i don't have a muffler or a catalytic converter on the car and the exhaust pipe is roughly 2 feet long after the turbo. i should also mention that i have a large crack on my exhaust manifold and the gasket between the turbo and manifold is very leaky (to the point that it blows my hair if i lean over, and my turbo is still spinning and working somewhat decently. so my question for you is why is it doing this?

also i was thinking about running straight cold air instead of using the factory air heater which draws air from the manifold. whats your opinion.

tl;dr: my exhaust manifold glows red after less than 10 minutes of gentle driving. why? also should i run cold air or heated air in my engine?

please help as this car is my daily driver and i dont feel safe driving it farther than 30 kilometers

Repair or replace the manifold and gaskets.

Loss of exhaust pressure means less turbo charge.
Less of turbo charge means less air at the intake.

Less air at the intake means too much fuel in the mixture... which is probably burning IN the exhaust manifold and everything down stream of that.

Thank you, i will definitely try that out, another question for anyone that has an idea of whats wrong, my tachometer doesn't work at all, i'm fairly sure thats its electronic and not mechanical, and i've checked pretty well every wire under the hood and i still can't seem to find the problem, any ideas?
