98 Volvo S70 hood problems

Hi a buddy of mine left his 98 Volvo with me will he went on a vacation, he whats me to do a tune-up on it well the hood only unlatches on the drivers side, so I checked the manual it said there is a lever left side of the grill, so I looked there and nothing, can any one help never worked on a Volvo before.

Hi, had the same problem. Have someone pull the hood upwards just a little while you unlock it under the dash. It will pop out of both latches and you can use the handle in the middle under the hood to open it. The latches have little rubber blocks to push the hood up when unlocking. In my case these were cracked on both sides. Good luck.
