Re: Can a 350Z take a 04 Mustang GT 5-Spd??

You gotta get the facts right ya know?

So let me summarize!

For 33k you get the best 350z model that goes 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, the 1/4 mile is 14.53 seconds

For 22k you get a Mustang GT (not the best model) that goes 0-60 in 5.3 seconds, the 1/4 mile in 14.5 or 14.3 seconds.

With the extra 11k u have, you can put a turbo in the mustang and itll SMOKE the 350z!

true...but both of those 0-60 and 1/4 mile numbers on both cars can be lower or higher.

you must remember the 350z wasnt built to go straight fast. that wasnt what nissan was thinking when they designed the car. it is meant to handle in turns for auto-crossing. that is what nissan has been all about since day 1.

Re: Can a 350Z take a 04 Mustang GT 5-Spd??

and your also trying to state that car manufacturers put all their money into making the car fast rather than add creature comforts. That extra 11k has been spent on seat warmers and the like.

I myself own a 2004 GT and stock i ran a 9.2 1/8th which is a 14.3 1/4. The average mustang Gt owner in that 99-04 range runs around a 14.3 now some have actually gotten there cars down to 13.7s with lots and lots of practice. Driver error is huge. Last time i was down at the track there was a 2004 350z he was running 9.9s with exhaust and thats 1/8th mile again his best i think was a 9.7 at 68mph that goes to about a 15.2 1/4 cause you take the 1/8th mile time and multiply it by 1.56. But yes these two cars are very very close stock for stock its drivers race. so dont compare internet numbers because they are mainly all wrong unless you have gone to some driving schools.

Re: Can a 350Z take a 04 Mustang GT 5-Spd??

Pretty much a bunch of you need to stop and think for a sec...

1. You have not driven either most likely for more than a day or 2 so you really have not got a feel for either car.

2. A mustang does not take 6 seconds to get to 60 unless you throw a second burnout in there.

3. I got my mustang gt for 6k with just over 110000 miles on it and it runs perfectly and looks great the best price your gunna get for a 350z is like 15k 13 if your lucky, so i have at least 6k more to boost my car.

In short the stang is way better than you give credit. Its much cheaper, and with the extra $$ you can drop a saleen supercharger in it and be pushin upwards of 400 ponies. Sure stock maybe a 350z may be able to beat my stang, but you had to spend twice to 3 times what i paid to barely beat me.

Red face Re: Can a 350Z take a 04 Mustang GT 5-Spd??

Yes it can. I've seen it up close & person.
My friend has a stock 350z, manual.
and another guy has a Shelby mustang gt or whatever, manual,
exhaust & i dont think anything else, and the 350z kicked his ass.
I've never seen the 350z loose a race so far.

Raced a honda with a k24 & turbo, beat him.
Raced a honda si, exhaust, headers, intake, - and beat him
mustangs- beat em.

im tellinq you. the 350z is intense.
my maza runs 14.7's. i think i wanna race him haha.
i'll loose =[

Re: Can a 350Z take a 04 Mustang GT 5-Spd??

ok so i have a 2004 mustang gt 5speed. i do have minor mods done to mine. i have full exhaust and intake and short shifter and a tune. best i ran at the track with street tires was a 13.60 at 106 with a 1.80 sixty foot. i have ran many 350z's will stock and with the mods. stock we ran almost neck and neck. i won some and lost some. it all depends on the driver of the car. but with the minor mods i have i usually pull two or so cars. mod motor mustangs love bolt ons.

Re: Can a 350Z take a 04 Mustang GT 5-Spd??

An 05 350z Smokes*** every year Mustang GT 2000 2009. I've Raced everyone, and it wasn't even close. Could have been drivers because i've also beaten 350z's. But the Specs say the 350z is def the faster car.

The 2011-2012 has over 400 hp so idk what would happen now.
Ill let ya'll know if i run into someone.
