2001 Chevy Cavalier Z24 with 2.4 liter engine-Can't check codes!
I have a 2001 Chevy Cavalier Z24 with the 2.4 liter engine. About a month ago the "check engine" light came on and didn't go off. I took it to my local Autozone to have them check the codes (twice).
Both times the guy plugged the code reader into the connector under the dash....NOTHING HAPPENED! I tried unhooking the battery to reset the codes and that also DID NOTHING. My questions are: If the code reader does nothing when plugged into the car, doed that mean the computer in the car is shot? Also, is there any info online telling how to check each individual sensor in the engine management system to isolate the problem if it's not the computer? THANKS in advance for any help with this problem! |
