serpentine belt help...please

the serpentine belt on my 1999 cavalier z24, 2.4L, is pretty loose. is there any way i can tighten it or do i have to replace it? if i have to replace it how do i do it?

You have to replace it because the tensioner is not adjustable...it adjusts automatically with the tension of the belt. If you put a new one on, and find that it's loose right away, you may need a new tensioner.

It's so much easier to get a free lease on a serpentine belt tool from an auto parts store when replacing the belt.
