03 Cav VS. 02 (?) Olds Alero

I rarely post race stories on here because my car is probably one of the furthest things from a street racer, when compared to some of the bad @ss rides some of you guys have...either way here is my story:

Last night I was driving home with my girl and we run into her brother and 2 of his friends. My ride is a bone stock 03 Chevy Cavalier Coupe 5-speed. His ride is an 02(?) Olds Alero Coupe, at that point I suspected it might be a V-6 because it had chrome wheels and leather interior. We came to a red and my girlfriend suggested I should race him! I said sure why not, I will probably get killed because he has a V-6 but its just for kicks, the roads are empty/dry and its late at night.

As the light turns green I screw up my launch and he jumps on it right away and my front bumper is meeting his rear. I quickly shift into 2nd then 3rd but it was not enough to stop his pull. He ended up beating me by about half a car. At this time I was certain it was a V-6. We both slowed down to the speed limit, I gave him the thumbs up and said "nice run", he does the same.

We come to another stop light together and I know he will go again and this time I am gonna get a better launch. Right when the light hits green I nail it and quickly jump ahead. I have his front bumper at my door and when I shift into 2nd he is at my rear bumper. I shifted into 3rd and got up to about 120 km/h with him at my rear bumper and then he shut down. My street came up so I turned and decided I was done with street racing for now. Not a bad run for the almighty Cavalier!

Cliff notes -

Raced a V-6 Olds Alero
Lost the first run
Won the other
Want a faster car

Why don't people post the cliff-notes at the top of the post? Then I don't have to read the whole thing before getting to the cliff-notes.

Why click the thread if you're not going to read it anyways?
