I'm not even going to touch this. Will someone with a bit more patience than me help this poor soul?

I need a cigarette now after reading this.

There's two books you need to buy, "Maximum Boost" and "Supercharged!" both written by Corky Bell. Everything you ever wanted to know about boost is in those two books. Good luck!

well doodad... the books he just recommended are great for both turbo and superchager information. but if you would like a general overview of either of them and just car info all together i suggest this site

www.howstuffworks.com

go there and READ everything you can, it seems kinda silly but that site can teach you a whole lot. i know it taught me the basics of cars and the like so go there and read up and you'll be better off than asking someone.

thats your answer...take a week off work, read that and you'll be set

first of all, boost is just a cool little name for Nitrgenous deoxyhidride...you can buy it in big bottles or there's also this new device that actually converts the air that passes through it to this new compound, by switching particles and all that other chemistry stuff. so this new compound will help spin your crankshaft faster since it is more dense and puts more pressure on the crank, so it forces it to spin faster making your cylinders fire at a faster pace making you go faster in return, and its better than nos because its constant, where as nos is just pushing a button and lasting for 10 seconds or what not

you can actually install boost pretty easily, just pop the hood and place it where ever you want, don't worry the compound naturally gets attracted to the crankshaft and finds its way there.

Re: Boost???

Yes, it is possible to add boost to just about any car. However, not all cars can run the same amount of boost, which is usually determined by the compression ratio. If you're really interested, be ready to pay big bucks, thousands of dollars for a setup. For your car, it's probably going to be easier to get it supercharged than turbocharged. Ask this question in the f-body section of this forum, and they'll give you more specific details.

Re: Boost???

Doodad, if I were you, I would invest in Muffler Bearings.

Cheaper than boost, and adds more hp

I don't think he's refering to the nitrous type of "boost".

You know there is such a thing, right? I used to joke about that all them time, until I learned there was one.

Re: Boost???

...Boost is a complicated process. In a turbo, the exhaust spins teh turbo wheel, witchcraft happens, and your car goes faster. If your not Emo enough, the majic wears off real fast.

In a supercharger, majical guinee pigs that have been breed with methamphetamines already in their system run on this really tiny belt at speeds upwards of mach 3 to build boost.
