98 Integra GSR Throttle Responce

I have a 98 Integra GSR Manual Trans that is completely stock at the moment, besides the AEM Intake that i'm putting in today.

When i press on the gas, it seems like there is a little bit of a lag. Is there any way to get a better/faster throttle responce? I've read about some grounding kits that claim to give better responce, but I just can't see how a grounding kit could make that much difference. Especially since i already have one.

A lighter flywheel will allow an engine to climb revs much faster than a heavier flywheel. But this is mainly while there is no other load on the engine ( transmission in gear ). Otherwise, you may be seeking more torque from you engine in order to accelerate in the low RPM range.

Re: 98 Integra GSR Throttle Responce

Have you changed the sparkplugs lately? How about the wires? Do so if you have not, that should help a little bit. Now are you talking about the respone right when you press the pedal or are you talking about the response difference between vtec and no vtec? Just thought I would make sure.

throttle responce

i was talking about how fast the rpms climb and fall when you rev the engine with the clutch in. I just put my AEM shortram intake on tonight. sucks cause it's raining. I can still tell a good difference. The throttle responce is a little quicker. Is there anything else you can tell me about flywheels?

You probably just need to adjust the throttle cable. And as far as the plugs and wires I like the ACCEL wires and the best plugs for your car would be NGK's. Those are the best plugs for hondas hands down!

You should drive it around for at least a month before you'll "accually" notice a difference. Since the ECU have to adjust the way you drive, fuel being injected need time to adjust. After that, you will determine what you need. Hope this helps

That is way off! All you have to do is pull the fuse for the ecu for about 10 seconds and then drive around and you will feel the improvement, but even if you don't do that yu will still feela difference. don't listen to this crap about haveing to drivea round for at least a month b/c that is completely untrue.

If it as start to do that trouble couple week ago and it`s when it idling to full fuel you got your lag( when you start apling throttle)check your fuel pressure regulator.

Talking lag on acceleration

Good suggestions - I would try a cat-back exhaust system like Flowmaster - the backpressure may cause hesitation. More flow thru, horsepower, couldn't hurt!

Re: 98 Integra GSR Throttle Responce

You could replace the spak plugs, plug wires, distributor rotor, and cap. In addition to that you could check your timing. Yes, a flywheel and ground wires will help, but these should be the least of your concerns....

You'r V-8 can't touch this!!!! Honda Integra XSi
