Right above "PARK" there is a little button that you push in. That way you can move the shifter
freely while the car is not running. This was needed to install the new shifter. The only problem
is now its like that all the time. when driving it just slides into any gear instead of locking into place??

i had the same problem. the shift nob may be set too high or somethin.
if it is not set right in the right place it won't work properly. don't worry.
try to get it set right or let somebody look at it. after i set mine right in
the correct position it worked. try that.:bandit: :smoka: :smoker2: :smoker:

Try the below:

According to Napolex Japan, they feel that the circular adapter or slide pin is installed in the lowered position causing the solenoid to stick. I got this from www.napolex.co.jp translated it for ya :

1. your shift knob could be installed with the circular adapter (knob sleeve) pushed down.

2. make sure your shift knob height is correct. Adjust height.

3. If you car is listed under N-C on the box(?) then all Nissans do not use the circular adapter. Take if off. >upload a pict of the box or instructions that note N-C vehicles so that I can read it for you <

4. There is a recession or step inside the circular adapter which may be preventing it to insert all the way. make sure the adapter is inserted all the way. (if your car is suppose to use it).

5. You may have forgotten to install the spring before the circular adapter.

6. Bottom of the shift cover could be rubbing the slide pin.

7. O/D wires could be rubbing against the circular adapter.

hope this helps dude! wanna get one too, so..
