Pioneer Head Unit!
Hey guys,
I have a Hyundai Lantra(Australian version) 2000 model. I've got a broken Pioneer head unit thats about 3 years old & I need to replace it. My head unit is DEH-6450BT.....If I was to get a DEH-6600BT or something similar for e.g would it have the same wires at the back so all I'd need to do would be to plug it in and I'd be good to go? I need a step by step video/guide for removal and installation for me to do this as i've never done this before and the head unit in my car was already in when I had purchased the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ben. |

Re: Pioneer Head Unit!
The wire colors between the two head units are likely to be the same, but I'm not sure the physical connectors would be. If you are comfortable soldering and heat shrinking wires you could pretty easily swap in the new harness if necessary by matching up the old connector wires to your new harness.
I cannot be much help on the dash disassembly to swap out radios though. I can say that just about all modern cars seem to have the cosmetic pieces snapped in place, you just need to figure out which piece to remove first and where it hooks versus where it snaps. -Rod |
