I have a few questions
I have a 1983 BMW 320i and it is having problems Idling. I know what the problems could be, but there is something unusual about this. After the car warms up it will stall if I let the RPMs drop below 1000. Another problem is that the car may not start at random intervals, sometimes right after running it, the weird part is that if I go and kick the fuel filter and some of the junk around it, it will start. I have replaced the fuel filter recently so I don't see that as being the problem unless some sedement got to build up in it, the other indication that it may be the filter or the pump is it takes more turning for it to start than it used to, these problems all occured at the same time. One more question, what kind of superchargers or turbochargers can I find in junk yards that are compatible to my car?
Thanks Aaron |

i would check all the sensors and see what they read because it might be something as simple as replacing an o2 sensor or a fuel pressure sensor

it could also be that you are loosing compression. when your engine is cold it runs fine but once it warms up the cylinder expands and if your cylynders are warped or something it can result in loss of compression. it happened to my dirt bike. it wouldnt idle either.
