66 El Camino window installation
I've been trying recently to install the windows in my elco but can't seem to get them on track with the vent window installed. I can get it on track real easy if I remove the vent window but then can't put the vent window back in with the main window installed. So what the heck? Anyone else have this problem? Also if anyone has a reliable, legible, wiring diagram for the 1966 El Camino that would also be helpful obviously for other reasons. Thanks.

Re: 66 El Camino window installation
Put the vent window in place, but do not mount it. Just leave it in place. When you put the main window in, you can move the vent window around in order to get the main window on the track (the vent window serves as one of the tracks for the main window). Once you have the window in place (you will have to angle it to get it in place), you can then mount the vent window using the nut on the bottom, the long screw on the top, and the three little screws that go in through the weatherstrip channel.
This is how I put the windows into the doors on my '67, which uses the identical setup.
