Which individual condition will let you stop the chime?
I'd suspect the door switch. Do you have keyless entry ?

Actually went and started pulling fuses and it was one of the fuses that was bad.

Re: Chime dinging with headlights on and car running
Had this happen to me last month.First the chime, then started noticing other electrical problems(wipers slowed, service engine light, etc).I measured the voltage and it read approx. 7 volts.I assumed it was the alternator, replaced it,same problem. After rooting around in the engine compartment for awhile,it began blowing a fuse when i tried to start the vehicle. I realized there was a short.Started checking everything on that circuit(ign.,alt.,a/c relay). It ended up being a small break in one of the wires going to the a/c relay. Initially not enough to blow the fuse, but enough to put a drain on the voltage. I believe the chime came on because it sensed low voltage, as if the vehicle was shut off but your headlights were still on.Hope this helps, took me all day(relay wiring was last thing I checked).
