81 El Camino V6 hesitation, bad idling, dead spot

I have a 81 El Camino V6 3.8. I recently replaced the plugs/wires, and rotor. A friend cleaned/rebuilt the carb and checked/replaced vacuum lines. STILL idles rough and the RPM's flucuate. Hesitation and a dead spot during takeoff. Some research tonight made me think it was the throttle position sensor (TPS)?? Please comment with any advise........... Thanks

Go get a can of techron and run it through. Throttle body gets dirty. Need faster repair, buy a can of throttle body cleaner (not carb) and spray throttle and sensors. Cheap fix. WORKS>
