I own a 1984 GMC S15 2WD standard cab with a longbed. This old s15 was retired in 1996 after 12 years of service as an air-conditioning service truck with 184,000 miles and a heavy duty suspension consisting of gabriel gas shocks front and rear, with 7 leaf springs in the rear with an additional helper spring kit. Yet the truck was brought back into service again as a personal vehicle in 1998 and has been my daily driver ever since. I have grown quite disgusted over the years by my 2.8L V6. Although it has been very reliable and can haul as much weight as you can imagine it lacks the power to pull it all. I was wandering if anybody out there knows of any performance modifications i might be able to do so I can kick life into the engine? Or if I just need to accept its fate as a sleepy sluggish snail. The only modifications I have done to my truck as of now is a set of american racing wheels silver nitros, a glass packed muffler, and two sony Xplod 220w 6X9 speakers pushed by a pioneer 200w amp. Nothing major to this old workhorse. I appreciate everyones help and e-mail me if you own an old s-10 or s-15 i would like to hear what you all have done.
