No brake lights or rear turn signals
I recently bought a 07 Expedition with light left front damage. After the repair I noticed that I'm not getting any power to the rear turn/brake, and backup lamps. The tail lamps and third break light work as does the trailer plug. I know that they were working prior to repairing the front. I did disconect an aftermarket alarm during the repair. Basically all I replace was L/F sheet metal. Of cause I checked the obvious things like fuses and current to the tail light sockets. Any suggestions, or a link to a schematic will be helpful.

Re: No brake lights or rear turn signals
48 people viewed this post and nobody has any idea or a schematic to help. Where are all the Ford techs?

Re: No brake lights or rear turn signals
Hard to give you an answer when you do your own body work and connections. I would check your work. If no success then check with a body shop for schematic.

Re: No brake lights or rear turn signals
I have been in the auto body business for over 38 years. This was a simple repair. Hood, L/fender, bumper/ headlamp and grille. No frame damage, no air bags, no obvious wiring damage. I never seen schematics in a body shop, I was hoping that there would be a Ford tech with access on this forum. All I need is a starting point and it shouldn't be to difficult to locate the problem.

Re: No brake lights or rear turn signals
The turn signals and the brake lights work on 2 different wiring schemes. However, they do use the same bulb. I'd check the bulbs to see if they are all right. You said you checked current to the bulbs and it was all right. Did you check the current while the brake and turn signals were on? With that much body damage on the front the brakes must have been applied when hit. Maybe the filaments fell out. I know it is a long shot, but it's happened to me. One day might low beams headlights didn't work. The fuse was good, the relay was good and the wiring was good. Turned out that both low beams burned out at the same time. So try a couple new bulbs. If they are getting current like you checked it would have to be this or a bad ground.

Re: No brake lights or rear turn signals
Had to go back to old school and physically chase the wires. Thankfully the problem was found quickly. Pulled some rear interior panels and followed the wire under the R/R door sill. Someone had cut out about 4 inch's going to the backup light, L and R turn signal lamps. This was a former police vehicle and it appears that something was installed in that harness. Spliced the three wire together and all is fine. Anybody know what could have been installed there. I'm just curious. I have a ABS problem that I will post in a new thread.

Re: No brake lights or rear turn signals
I have a similar 07 Expedition that I just purchased in an auction. It is an old police cruiser and they cut out a bunch of wires to remove the sirens. Now I have no rear signals (brake, turn, hazard or backup) I only have lights. They left a bunch of wires in here from the sirens. Did you find a schematic of the wiring or did you just wing it and search through the walls to track down the break? I am so lost...
