1999 Honda Accord LX STOCK

My Car is a 1999 Honda Accord LX Sedan (4-Cylinder) and I'm wondering if i can beat a 2002 Chevy Blazer (V6)? My friend has the Chevy Blazer and he always talks crap about having AMERICAN POWER... which is really ridiculous because we all know american cars/trucks suck. Im thinking about racing him to get it over with... can i beat him? (i dont know ALOT about cars, thats why i am asking)

well that is VERY APPARENT, FIRST OFF THE WHOLE ARGUMENT OF CAN I BEAT HIM, WILL HE BEAT ME, IS CALLED BENCHRACING AND VERY LOOKED DOWN UPON, JUST GO TO THE TRACK AND RUN HIM, P.S. HE WILL SMOKE YOU, IN CASE YOU DIDNT KNOW MOST OF THOSE S-10 BLAZERS WITH A V6, THAT V6 IS BASICALLY A 350 V8 MISSING 2 CYLINDERS. AND AS FOR THE WHOLD IMPORT VS DOMESTIC BULLCRAP, THATS WHAT IT IS IS BULLCRAP THERE ARE PROS AND CONS TO BOTH SIDES, GROW UP A LITTLE, LEARN A LITTLE THEN COME BACK AND POST

Re: 1999 Honda Accord LX STOCK

I Got the VTEC though, his speedometer only goes to 100mph, and mine goes to 140mph, i know that doesnt mean a whole lot but i can easily hit 100mph and 100mph is his maximum speed. we have a good straight 10 mile road we can race on... now that i said i got the VTEC, do you think i'd win or not?

Re: 1999 Honda Accord LX STOCK

What do you think VTEC is? I am pretty sure every honda motor now is labeled VTEC. They are not all fast, in fact few are. A straight 10 mile road is no race. In a quartermile neither one of you would hit 100 so I don't care what the max speed on a dial says.

Re: 1999 Honda Accord LX STOCK

Just Because His Speedo Says 100 Mph Dosent Mean That Is As Fast As He Can Go, I Got A Ticket In My 85 F-150 At 117 And The Speedo Only Goes To 85. Even With Vtec In A Fair 1/4 He'll Eat You Up, Now Quit With The Bench Racing

Ignorant comments like these are what make benchracing threads a pointless waste of time.

Re: 1999 Honda Accord LX STOCK

Ok R U Gonna Tell Him That Oh Yes, I Didnt Know You Had Vtec, Omg!!! You Have Like 600hp When You Go Into Vtec, Man You Should Go Racing Ferraris. THE VORTEC V6 IN THOSE BLAZERS IS IN GENERAL CHEVEROLET TALK HAS THE NICKNAME OF THE 350 MISSING TWO CYLINDERS, AND IN A 1/4 MILE RACE BETWEEN THESE TWO, THE BLAZER HAS AN ASSLOAD MORE TORQUE, AND NOT AN EXTREMELY HEAVY VEHICLE. AND IGNORANT PEOPLE WHO BENCH RACE MAKE BENCHRACING THREADS A WASTE OF TIME BECAUSE BENCHRACING IS POINTLESS TO BEGIN WITH OR ELSE NO ONE WOULD ACTUALLY RACE, WE WOULD ALL BENCHRACE. IM NOT TRYING TO TAKE SIDES WITH THE CHEVY, I HATE CHEVYS, BUT LOOK AT THE MECHANICAL DETAILS BETWEEN THE TWO VEHICLES

You should beat him, but at the same time, you should not be street racing...it is a great way to get someone killed or get your liscense revoked

Re: 1999 Honda Accord LX STOCK

1999 Honda Accord Sedan 4-cyl
150hp / 5700 RPM
152tq / 4900 RPM
2987 lbs
FWD
1/4 mile ~ 17.0 secs

2002 Chevrolet Blazer V6
190hp / 4400 RPM
250tq / 2800 RPM
3612 lbs
RWD/4WD ( you didnt mention which)
1/4 mile ~ 16.5 secs

He has a 40 hp and 100 tq advantage on you. So id give him the 1/4 mile easy. Different story if you had the V6 Accord. they run like mid 15's
