Do You Keep Maintenance Records?
I see a lot of people making a big deal over maintenance records. I"m wondering how many people look for a car with records, yet do not keep them on their vehicle?
Have you heard the arguments over the wisdom of buying a former rental car? The benefit is that it does have its records, yet has possibly hundreds of owners.... hhmmm. Time to be honest! What best describes your record keeping habits?

Re: Do You Keep Maintenance Records?
Unless I plan on selling it. When I'm done with my current POS it's going straight to the junk yard!

You might consider AF -> My Garage ,it's like a Face book for your car.
It's up to the owner to keep records. CarFax only has records that are reported, and alot of them canbe lost. |

Re: Do You Keep Maintenance Records?
Any car can last a lifetime if people can stand to look at it forever like their spouse. When you keep service records, you not only set up a good sale for the future but you also keep track of what you have done for your own peace of mind. Just think of how many old musclecars and classics would be still on the road or in our garages if a little preventative maintenance had been done. But afterall it is just like exercise and fitness, we will only get out what we put in!

Re: Do You Keep Maintenance Records?
I use http://www.motortab.com to keep track of all my maintenance records. I scan all of my receipts, warranty info, etc and upload them to the site. I tried the paper route, but just didn't work for me - this is a lot easier!

Yes. Both for warranty on big jobs, to show any prospective buyers what's been done, and for myself to keep track of service intervals.
