A lotta car for not a lotta cash

I am now in the process of buy a used car. I have approximately $6,000 to spend and want something sporty and reliable. What will get me the most bang for the buck? Any and all feedback is apreciated. Thanks!

Define bang for your buck. Bang as in performance? Reliability? Comfort? You'll need to decide how much of one you'll sacrafice for another. You cant have awsome in all those categories for the price you want to pay.

Bang??

Usually 'Bang' doesn't mean comfort....240SX/Silvia would be a great choice If possible get one with a SR20DET in it. not sure if the US models came with that type of engine. I think they might have had the CA18de in it.They threw about 3 different types of engines into those cars. research research!! Make a few choices but look around to see how far others have taken a similar car. 240SX have been know to go higher than 500 with the SR20DET in them. There is one here in Oki that tops over 700hp with a RB26dett in it. (Silvia over here).
