Buying a 2002 Mountaineer what should I know about them
I am days away from buying a 2002 Mountaineer v6 awd. 87,000 miles on it. Is there anything that I should know or consider before I purchase this vechile? Are there any recalls that I should know about? How do I find about recalls that would affect my vechile? Does anyone think that I should stay away from this? What are some of the issues with the SUV. I am just trying to get the skinny on it, before I drop the coin down.
Mountaineer owners LMK what you think about it. |

As for the recalls, enter the requested information at http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...fectsearch.cfm
I'm not very familiar with the 2002 Mountaineer, so I cannot offer many suggestions on items to check specific to the 2002. The basics are a good place to start such as historical maintenance records, transmission fluid condition, tire wear, oil condition and check for sludge under the oil fill cap, check transmission shift feel, etc. -Rod |
