Proton GTI
Just wonderin what happened to the Proton GTi?
I think it might be called Satria nowadays, or Satria GTi It was released a couple years ago and got pretty good reviews as it had decent go and Lotus-tuned suspension... didnt look too dreadful either: i guess it was too expensive at about £13k, which is a lot for a Proton |

I've heard of this car, but, if it is anything like the rest of Proton, the lotus tuned suspension will be so great, the rest of the car will fall apart from jealousy. Of course, Proton now owns Lotus, so, I now hope Proton starts to make good cars on their own.

There is a proton dealer near me, and they do not supply very nice cars, but was surprised that there was no forum on here for it. I always thought they were quite a large company.

Proton is the largest auto maker in Malaysia. That's not saying much since Malaysia is a protected market giving Proton almost no competition.
On a global scale, Proton ranks around 23rd in vehicle production; just ahead of Navistar (the maker of International trucks) and just behind TELCO (and Indian maker). Proton bought Lotus a number of years (about 6) ago, so I would figure their engineering influence would have shown up by now. |

I don't find Proton products to be ugly. They're plain, not ugly. |

Like the Wira.. look like the 3rd gen lancer.. ( Correct me if I am wrong ) I guess their own original model is the Waja?

Youre right, the GTi is more bland than ugly... The Impian, on the other hand, and i wont post a picture as some of you might faint with horror, is a very ugly thing indeed :apuke:

Funny : the snow were making us dreaming when we were younger and now it's boring as hell
I've to go in Paris tomorrow : the train is in strike (again !!!), my car is at the garage and it's snowing.... .... not fun !
