[quote=SL3000gt;5940328]Yup, and that is why I don't drink and drive. And I know what alcohol does to people as I have undergone its affects multiple times. As far as the benefits from not drinking as oppose to drinking...that is all in the eye of the beer holder.

As far as this being an automotive forum, yes, that is true. I have also almost never seen a post of yours that pertains to anything automotive.
here are some of my posts that pertain to automotive topics: Check engine light questions, Re: 98 Dodge Grand Caravan wanting more power,

, Re: Car wont start, ,

Not that it is a problem as we have sub-sections such as the political forum and off-topic threads (such as this) where automotive discussion is rarely every discussed.

And being that you are a driving instructor, you could still induldge in alcohol as long as you don't misuse it (ie. drunk driving). Not everyone that drinks is a criminal when they do so.
Sure I could indulge if I chose, but indulging in alcohol IS misusing it.

Have you ever seen documentaries about people getting hurt while WALKING drunk on the street?

Ugh. I don't know where to start.

First off, none of those threads are in the 3000gt section. Since (and I'm only talking for myself) I don't peruse the Dodge Caravan and Buick Riviera sections of Automotive Forums, I havn't actually seen a memorable post from you. So please don't try and ridicule one of our dedicated forum members for turning 21 and having some drinks.

Indulging alcohol is misusing it? Not according to our government. If they did consider it a drug that should not be available to the public they'd just classify it as a schedule I drug or something of the like. But instead, they decide that it is safe enough for reasonable consumption. And, like Autostrada has said, red wine and even BEER in moderation can and will reduce your chances of strokes, as well as heart and vascular disease.

As for the last part...no, I don't believe that I could force myself to watch something like that unless I was drunk as hell, and then I'd just be laughing my ass off. Are you seriously that scared of a bump or scrape that you would deny yourself something more natural than pretty much anything you own? Give me a break. If you don't want to get hurt, I suggest buying yourself a plastic bubble because eventually you're going to get injured. And probably far worse than a drunken tumble(which you won't even remember the next day) will.

Man it's too early in the morning.

Very true, but the definition of a healthy glass differs from who you ask. Eight ounces is not healthy.

ROFL, right on, Morph.
Seriously dude, we're not going to criticise you for not drinking, so dont come in to the offtopic and criticise us about because we undertake a perfectly legal and common activity.
Indulging is misusing? So then what is the proper use?
I'll grant you that there are some people who should not drink...for one reason or another. But you seem to think that "demon liquer" takes away everyone's inhabitions, makes then not remember what they do, and generally act like an idiot. It's just not true for all people. Only 1 person i've known in my entire life couldn't handle their alchohol in that fashion and generally didn't know when to stop, and he is one of those people who just should not drink. And he realized this as well and doesn't drink anymore.
Again it's all about self control. I drink almost every day after work. Do i go start fires, fall down stairs, run around naked? No, we sit around playing cards and talking. Every now and again we go out or have a pong tourney and get completely shitfaced, but even then we're not hurting anything or anyone else other than our own livers, so it's no business of yours.
Prohibition was a bad idea though up by uptight people with too much power trying to impose their will on others. If you dont like alchohol, dont drink it. it's that simple.

Power hour is a shot of beer every minute for an hour. It ends up being like 8 beers in an hour...one hell of a way to start the night

Why do you want to hurt your liver? (you will die without it)

Re: 3000gt's/Stealth very own off topic thread: Part Quatre

jesus guys, cant we just respect other peoples choices and stay out of their personal biznass? i mean for reals, alcohol is out there and people are gonna drink it if they want.and there is nothing wrong with that. no one is forced to drink or forced not to drink. its a choice, just because you dont happen to aggree with it doesnt make it wrong. Its all choices. religion=choice. politics=choice. drinking/smoking/any other possible activity=choice. calm down dude. no one is telling you how to live your life.
